October 26, 2017. Gather supplies:
Large container, planting mix (we prefer Organic), Perlite, bulbs for three layers,
and plants to cover the soil on the top layer.

Add Perlite to soil to provide additonal aeration for plant roots.

Pour first layer of blended soil in the bottom of the container.

Pat soil down gently.

Place bulbs on the soil. Tall growers like these Daffodils go on the deepest layer.

Add another layer of soil to cover the bulbs.

This layer of bulbs contains species Tulips.
Add another layer of soil over the Tulip bulbs.

This layer is for Crocus bulbs being sure to place them close to
the outer edge so they will be visible when taller bulbs grow.
Add another layer of soil over the Crocus bulbs.

The top layer will provide color and cover while the bulbs are coming up.
We have used Violas, but you can use your favorite winter annual--just be sure
the plants aren't so dense that the bulbs can't push through them on their way to the sun!
